I think snakes are cute unless (a) they are venomous and live under my porch (like when I lived in NM), (b) are venomous and blend in with the woods (like when I lived in MO), (c) are venomous and come into your house (like when I lived in FL), or when they group up into a massive ball of hundreds in the fall and spring and FREAK me out a little. One snake, non venomous, cute and I can pick it up just fine. 😯

That is an awesome photo! I also agree with Denise(though I have never lived in those places or seen those types of snakes). We have had a bunch of the little red bellied racers or fire snakes I have heard them called. Natalie named one Fingers because “it likes to hang out wrapped around her fingers.” The kids also thought it enjoyed going down the slide (they made a “sled” for it out of paper first.) Last weekend we sent two home with my nephews and now one is lost in their house. Maybe it will be hanging out with the tree frog they took home and lost after the previous visit.

Truly I would not think venomous snakes hanging around the place were cute either. In fact I’m not really all that attached to the rattlesnakes in Wisconsin. Personally I’m cheering for the Red-Tailed Hawks, I heard it from a DNR guy who was a part of the rattlesnake conservation efforts that they were the snakes biggest problem! Go Red-Tails, Go!

The lost snake and frog makes me laugh, my cousin once lost some sort of lizard in the house, it eventual showed back up. Maybe if he or his mom see’s this they’ll leave the story. Pretty funny!
