Saying Goodbye

We had to say our final goodbyes to Piper today.

She was the best snow loving,

pheasant hunting,

kid tolerant,

bed hogging,

couch loving,

Great Dane in the world.

We’ll miss her forever.

Piper-oni certainly set the bar high!
And, while she was an amazing dog on her own,
her owners sure provided her with
    an awesome home and life.
She couldn’t have asked for any better!
Nothing small about this big dog- big barks, big paws,
big poops, big drool, big love…and not
least of all the hole left in your heart.
    Bye Pipes.

    Me, my mo Miper,
    PIPER!

Dear Jess and John We feel so sorry that you had to put Piper down. She was patient girl with your girls and Kaie is right she leaves a big hole in you hearts. We have all had the same experience, but there are times when the best hing you can do for a pet is to relieve their pain and misery. You did the right thing for her. GRAMP & GRANNY

I’m so sorry to hear that, Jess. Piper was indeed a wonderful dog! I’m sure she’s chasing rats and squirrels with the best of them in dog heaven. When I’m reincarnated as a dog, I want to live in your house! Lot of hugs to you all, OOXXXX

Aw, I’ll miss her too. She’s the only dog in the world I actually liked. Seriously. There wasn’t anything annoying and dog-like about her. She was just such a gentle lady. I liked how after I came to your house once or twice, she always came sniffing but never barked at me anymore. She knew we were friends.

So sorry to hear that Jessie. What a big loss for your family. Your writing and images helped us get to know her. Hopefully she will meet our big old Rocket in doggie Heaven. I have a picture of Rocket and our Beth in a nearly identical pose of half naked Clara and Piper. I will share it with you when I find it.

She will stay with you in stories and pictures, and if it is like our house, a floor that needs to be cleaned much more often.

We’ve gone though two dogs and it is so heart-wrenching. You have our condolences–dogs are GREAT family members. Piper was truly a fabulous dog. Hugs to you all.
