My “20 something” sisters tell me that paired socks are not cool. I once in a while wear socks that don’t match, but that is difficult for me. I wash all kids’ socks in mesh zipper bags that you find in the laundry section. My mismatched pairs are minimal because the pairs have to get into the bag.

What? I don’t think I can wear mismatched socks, that was so uncool as a kid that it makes my skin crawl just thinking about it. I’m very impressed that your socks make it into a mesh bag. I have a mesh bag, I’ve put socks in it a few times… ok maybe once… or maybe I just thought about putting the socks in it. Yup I think that was it!

Oh my gosh, YES! I hate those little sockies! I put all the single socks in the drawer anyway to mingle and find partners that I hopelessly think will come through in the next load… but it is quite disturbing how many remain unmatched! And, I thought I would be so smart with Joe and just get all one kind of sock…nope, even though they looked the same, each pair of white with blue striped sock is just a little bit different. Really? Ugh.

I love the mesh bag idea…and if I did any type of sorting before laundering that would work well. 🙂 For now, I’ll just choose to complain!

RIght there with you, I’d much rather complain and take pictures of mismatched socks than go through the effort of bagging dirty socks. I’m sure it would be less time invested altogether but then we wouldn’t be having this nice discussion right? Right.
