My Editor…

…he knows how to spell, where commas are supposed to go and he’s cute.

A few hours after I publish a post, my faithful editor fixes them. Unfortunately those of you who are getting the first version are missing what my other half does for them, and some days (apparently today was one of them) it’s a lot!.

And so…

Apologies to those of you who subscribe via e-mail and get what is usually the unedited post.

And …

Thanks John, you are the best editor/husband/father of my children/climber of trees/chicken butcher/griller/foot rubber a girl could ask for!

Dear readers: Do you see what I have to do on a nightly basis? She ended the second paragraph with an exclamation mark….. and a period. Good grief!.

  2. Cara says:

So most of my comments, typed hastily and carelessly on the iPad, must really drive him crazy.

I would love it if my wonderful hubby would be my editor and a chicken butcher!

Maybe I will wait for a few hours to look at your recent posts so I can see edited version. Might be hard since I am always excited to read more after seeing the title and the first two lines in my email!

Don’t worry Cara, it seems he saves all his “good griefs.” for me, must be a husband thing! 🙂

It used be that I could hardly read a newspaper or ad without wanting to call and tell them of their mistakes. I have mellowed a lot over the years. Now, I am really only bothered the misuse of words, when it is clearly not a typo. Composing email on a cell phone keyboard and other small handheld devices has humbled me.

    • Jessie says:

Well, the content doesn’t ever change, but if my poor grammar and misspellings bug you it might be a good idea!

  4. Cara says:

Ahh! I had to edit a typo and deleted a word in my comment. I am going to bed.

    • Jessie says:

I’m so glad you’ve mellowed, if you hadn’t you’d never still be reading my blog!

        Hey Jessie,

Any interest in reading an article from the New Yorker on the Koch brothers? I’d be interested in discussing your thoughts on it via e-mail…. Also had a question for you that I’d prefer to ask via e-mail instead of on blog comments (I’d just like to pick your brain a bit re: big corporations and the power of the people…I’m interested in just asking questions and hearing your responses, not arguing back like I’d want to do if it were in comments on my blog, you know?). If interested in either the story or my questions, send an e-mail my way: Was going to try to e-mail you but couldn’t find an address…
