Faking It

This morning when we woke to a winter wonderland outside and a huge flock of red winged blackbirds I thought we’d better go take advantage of what may be the last good snow day.

So during breakfast I took stock of the situation.

Ivy was better, but cranky from being cooped up.

Clara was not feeling as well as Ivy, but definitely on the mend.

And as evidenced by my multiple trips to the bathroom during breakfast, I was feeling decidedly worse.

Left with no option other than to survive the day I took the plunge…

…some herbal tea, a neti pot, a handful of Tylenol, a Diet Coke and it was snowman making time.

Clara ate snow and cried.

Ivy made tracks, snow angels and a snowman.

I helped with the snowman, held Clara, took pictures, and pretended I felt fine.

Faking it with Diet Coke.

It’s not the answer to a quick recovery, quite the opposite I’m afraid, but it gets us through the day!

I’m imprssed that you could pull that off, Jessie. I’m in my third day of being sick, and I barely drag myself from couch to bathroom, to computer. The improvement I notice so far is that my headache isn’t so severe.

Hope you are all top-notch by tomorrow.

Helen, I’m sure you did your fair share of “faking it” when your kids were little! If I wasn’t elbow deep making bread and soup in the kitchen with Ivy (OK clearly she’s been abandoned stirring the soup at the moment) I’d be in bed with a book!
I hope your feeling better tomorrow too!

I hope you are better tomorrow! When I first saw the title of your post I thought it was for the book called Faking It and was surprised that you would read it. I don’t remember much about the book. I read it with my book club.

Good for you for faking it Jess, I’m on my 3rd day and my comfy chair with my book is position of choice! Making soup is helping though!
