How was your holiday weekend?
Were you as lucky as we were and able to turn it into a weeks vacation?
A trip with family and friends, canoeing and fishing,
kite flying and picnicking,

Yup, we picnicked with our Foosball table- cut the grilling operation out of the picture- everybody knows what that looks like!
Are you still in the habit of lazy days, afternoon drinks and delicious dinners?
If so, take a deep breath, savor the memory of reading in the sun and shake it off.
Because, if you are like me, you are home alone with kids used to constant company and entertainment and there’s nobody else around to help with dinner.
The vacations over – -just shake it off!
Love this post. Glad you guys had fun!!
Hope your busy weekend was fun too!
I’m trying to do just that. I’ve had company for 16 days, and although we had lots of fun adventures, I’m ready for some calm after the storm. 🙂 Thanks for linking up again!
While I love going places sometimes I’m not sure if the packing and the unpacking/getting back into the groove is worth it!
Looks like a wonderful trip! And at least that pup is having fun shaking it off.
Oh the dogs had a great time! Trip, (the brittany) just swims around in circles and Storm (the pudelpointer) was in retrieving heaven!
Vacations are always bittersweet: lovely in and of themselves but not the best experience transitioning back to everyday life >.<
Exactly!
Great photos!! Looks like it was a good time! We’re just setting off on our vacation…I’m sure I’ll need a rest when we get back, but what I’ll get to do is just ‘shake it off’ ! 😉
First, let me tell you that I love these photos especially those of your dogs who are “shaking-it-off”. Your vacation sounds so wonderful. We did manage to go to the nearby lake upon my insistence so That I could escape an hour or so of a role-playing game. 🙂
oh what a delightful post — -which I always find here! I think it’s beyond clever taking the Foosball table — great plan!
Thank you. Some persons, not to be named, thought bringing the Foosball table along was ridiculous. Those same persons spent plenty of time playing on it once it was there though! 🙂
Such a happy post! I love that you took the foosball table! I’m generally the one who gets ribbed for bringing too much stuff (that always gets used!) So my hat goes off to the one who was brave enough to venture away with the foosball table!!! Bravo 😉
LOL! I love it ❤
Trixie and I got to spend a long weekend on Pewaukee Lake. Hee Hee! Just turned into a noodle – ate, drank read my book had brunch at Seesters with Trixie. Didn’t get much sleep someone’s dogs barked and howled all night and all day. I heard their owners were out of town. I just love spending time out at the cottage.
Delightful post! I was away too – at the sea in Liguria, Italy. Arrived home this morning and have already unpacked and done a load of washing. Thank goodness there are only two of us! Your post is inspiring me. Time to get writing!
I’m jealous. We still have two and a half weeks of school left. Everyone is exhausted and needing a break and there’s been loads going on at school. It’s allay bit manic at the moment!
Love, love, love all of this! We went away for a few days as well, and boy am I ever having a hard time “shaking it off”! I love hanging out with my kids and my grandkids…miss them so much now, but I’m looking forward to the next time!
Glad you were able to get away and have some summer fun in the sun!
Doesn’t everybody take a foosball table on a picnic?? Looks like it was a great vacation!
Well they certainly should though it did seem like we were the only ones at the park with one…
