Jane: “Mom! At Clara’s field trip I saw a real alligator and he was black and really friendly.”
Me: “Friendly? Really? How could you tell?”
Jane: “He was smiling!”
Mental note- Things to teach Jane.
- All that glitters is not gold.
- Beauty is only skin deep.
- Never put your trust in crocodile tears or alligator smiles
That’s Disney logic right there 😂 Smiling gator = friendly woodland animal (or not)
I’m not going to lie, I like a lot of Disney things. BUT, Disney never helps with common sense!
That is true 😂
On field trips here, we see boring old cows and sheep!
Well us too normally. But they went to the zoo and the picture is one I took while we were on vacation much further south last year!
Good takeaway from this field trip.
They are supposed to be learning adventures right?!?
Well, at least you learned something?
Right. 🙂
It’s true, kids say the darndess things!
They sure do, and it’s hard to fault her, alligators do look like they are smiling. An evil reptilian smile, but still smiling!
This photo just reminded me of this poem by Lewis Carroll:
“How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin
How neatly spreads his claws
And welcomes little fishes in
With gently smiling jaws!”
Oh I like that! 🙂
He is a handsome fella though, even though he’s terrifying!
Yes exactly- not swimming with a fellow like that even if he does have a charming smile!
Okay, this made me laugh! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
Thank you for visiting my little corner of the internet!
You’re very welcome. 🙂
Ahh, crocodile smiles, a bit like crocodile tears. 🙂
That’s what I’m thinking, I’m not sure I’m willing to get close enough to test the theory though! 🙂
