Just Jane

With the older girls back at school it’s just me and Jane all day long.Me and Jane

Perhaps I should rephrase that…

With her older sisters at school Jane is back to talking to just me all day long.

Today I learned some interesting things…

When she colors too much the bones in her finger become so sore it requires a massage from her mother to continue coloring. I really have no idea how she’s managed this long without her regular finger massages. I mean, really, sore finger bones, it’s a dramatic sort of problem. In fact I’m really rather amazed we made it through without professional intervention and merely a few wide eyed earnest looks and large sighs from the poor girl.

Then, after reading a book where someone was nervous, we were talking about what makesΒ her feel that way.

“Well” she said, “if you trained alligators that would make me nervous.”

I tend to agree.Jane

If sore coloring fingers require massages just think of the drama alligator training would bring!

  1. You’re lucky to have this quality with just Jane. And it’ll go by fast!

Its always nice to have any of the kids one on one. We will have even more fun in a few days when she remembers that I can’t actually play with her ALL day long! πŸ˜‰

This is one of those posts that makes me wish we lived closer! I would love to spend time with you two doing 4 year old stuff. And Jane is looking so grown up!

I love her expressive face! And it’s hard to color without regular finger massages!

    • Jessie says:

She does have a very expressive face, I asked her all her favorites today for a soon to be post and I should have video’d it instead because her face was hilarious. All those thinking poses you know! πŸ™‚

  4. That second photo, the one of just her, just fabulously sums up the drama πŸ™‚

  5. Dan says:

She reminds me a little of one of Lizzie’s cousins in that last picture! There’s literally a ‘thinking pose’ picture from the morning of our wedding that still cracks me up.

This post was an absolute joy to read. Looking forward to Jane’s favourite things😊

After a couple of months of stress with my thumb after writing too much (loads of revision then a week of full-time full-on school), I have to sympathise with the sore colouring finger bones – “bone-skin-inflammation” really is a thing.. I’d never heard of it, or thought about it, until I got it – amazing that ahe already knows all the details! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  7. Jeanette says:

Coloring is important, thank you for taking care of her fingers to keep it going πŸ™‚

  8. Becky says:

You’re the best! πŸ™‚ Watch out for those alligators! She’s going to need a full body massage after that! I can’t believe how BIG she is getting! What a delight!

  9. Imelda says:

    She’s funny!πŸ˜‚

  10. Sharon says:

Suggest kitty training. It’s much safer and they don’t eat as much as an alligator.
