“When was the last time you showered?”
“You better go take a shower.”
“No, you can’t just put your hair in a pony tail, go wash it.”
“Because you can’t remember the last time!”
“No, you have to.”
“Because you can’t remember the last time, that means it’s been too long!”
…
“AND WASH YOUR HAIR SO WE CAN BRUSH IT!!!”
…
“Did you wash your hair yet?”
“Okay, but don’t come out until you wash and condition it.”
…
“Did you wash it?”
“Go, get back in and wash and condition it!”
“Because we will never be able to get all the snarls out otherwise!”
…
*Thirty Seven hours of brushing and crying and whining later…*
“There, all nice and smooth and shiny!”

Unrelated photo. And yet it seemed appropriate anyway…
*sigh*
When was the last time I showered?
Damn, I can’t remember.
…
*Go to use shampoo and conditioner and find empty bottles.*
*Try to brush hair.*
*Fail due to large snarls.*
*Throw it all in pony tail anyway.*
*sigh*

(Messy buns are better at hiding the tangles (and grease) than ponytails… :))
I”ll keep it in mind! π
All the fun with little ones.
Yeah… *all* the fun…. π
I have three long-haired daughters. I could probably retire on the king’s ransom I’ve spent over the years on shampoo and conditioner. Oh wait–I’m already retired. Guess I’ll settle for payment in grandchildren.
π That goat might be a bit far in the future to get me through the next round of showers and hair brushing but I’ll try it! π
Ooh, that face!! (She’s just wonderful.)
π
I ended up getting my daughters hair cut because of similar situations!
It’s the “big” threat around here… It only sort of works. I may have to follow through with it soon.
Oh my! your post reminds me of my own children. “Mommy, we just showered last week,” they would say when I send them to a shower. I thought this aversion to water is a boy thing – it may just be a child-thing after all. π
Yup, long hair and everything, my girls still are not interested in cleaning up, must be a kid thing!
I can so relate to this
Thanks for saying so, and also I’m sorry… π
